Sekalipun bersifat universal, di antara beragam topik itu ternyata terdapat mitos tertentu yang relatif jarang ditemui di tengah masyarakat.

Alias, tak semua masyarakat di dunia memiliki narasi mitos ini.

Topik mitos ini bercerita tentang asal-usul lahirnya aksara atau budaya literasi dalam sebuah masyarakat.

Sementara itu bicara budaya keberaksaraan atau tradisi literasi sendiri, jelas sering disebut sebagai ciri-ciri atau pattern dari fase peradaban ( civilization ) dalam sejarah masyarakat manusia.

Ahimsa bisa jadi juga tidak memberikan pembacaan dan tafsiran baru, namun ia setidaknya menawarkan piranti baru untuk mendekati mitos sebagai kajian antropologi.

Melalui pendekatan strukturalisme, plus mendekati pada bagian-bagian atau unsur-unsur pembentuk dari keseluruhan narasi legenda Aji Saka, Ahimsa membangun kerangka tafsirannya melalui paradigma evolusi kebudayaan rumusan EB Tylor.

Oleh Ahimsa, narasi Aji Saka ini dibagi menjadi tiga episode.

Kedua, episode Aji Saka mengalahkan raja zalim dan kemudian mengutus abdinya mengambil pusaka.

Dan terakhir atau ketiga, episode Aji Saka menuliskan kisah tragis kedua abdinya yang setia itu, Dora dan Sembada.

Dari sana ia kemudian mengikuti paradigma evolusi kebudayaan EB Tylor, yaitu savageri, barbarism, dan civilization, dan memaparkan tahap-tahap evolusi kebudayaan di Jawa, yang langsung atau tidak, terdokumentasikan dalam narasi mitos Aji Saka tersebut.

Tiga Fase Evolusi Tahap savagery ditandai oleh kehidupan yang nomaden, masih berpindah-pindah tempat.

Manusia pun belum sanggup mendomestifikasi binatang, sehingga juga belum dikenal peternakan maupun penggembalaan.

Fase savagery ini direpresentasikan oleh episode pengembaraan Aji Saka, bersama dua abdinya, Dora dan Sembada.

Konon, mereka berasal dari negeri antah berantah atau negeri atas angin.

Sengaja pergi mengembara hingga kemudian Aji Saka tiba menginjakan kakinya di Tanah Jawa.

Episode berikutnya adalah episode Aji Saka mengalahkan raja zalim.

Oleh Ahimsa, fase ini ditafsirkan sebagai simbolisasi evolusi budaya masyarakat Jawa menuju tahap berikutnya, yaitu fase barbarism.

Sebagaimana dikatakan Tylor, pada tahap barbarism ini masyarakat manusia sudah mulai hidup dengan cara menetap.

Pada fase ini memungkinkan masyarakat manusia membangun sebuah organisasi sosial yang berbeda corak dan karakteristiknya dengan saat kehidupan mereka masih bersifat nomad.
